ABOUT US

Welcome to the Energy Conversion Systems Laboratory (ECSL), a pioneering research hub dedicated to advancing the frontiers of electrical energy technology.
As artificial intelligence (AI) rapidly expands, the demand for stable, efficient, and high-density power systems has never been greater. Every AI data center, from training supercomputers to edge processors, depends on advanced power electronics technologies to ensure reliable and high-quality power delivery.
Our lab focuses on developing converter circuits, control algorithms, and grid-interactive power systems that form the backbone of modern energy infrastructure — from AI data centers and renewable energy systems to electric propulsion and future smart grids.
While our main research covers a wide spectrum of power electronics — including Grid-Forming Converters (GFM), MMC-based HVDC systems, and Hybrid Energy Interfaces — we also explore how these technologies can support the growing AI ecosystem by enabling faster, more stable, and energy-efficient power conversion.
For students interested in combining AI, energy, and power electronics, our lab provides an exciting environment to learn, design, and experiment with the technologies that keep the AI era running.
Join us in powering the intelligence of the future.
