ABOUT US

Welcome to the Energy Conversion Systems Laboratory (ECSL), a pioneering research hub dedicated to advancing the frontiers of electrical energy technology. Our primary focus lies in High Power Electronics, catering to high and medium voltage applications pivotal in grid connections. Power electronics stands as a cornerstone technology for the evolving energy landscape, offering unmatched versatility in harmonizing diverse power sources, storage systems, and grid structures. This expertise is not only pivotal to the existing AC grid but is equally critical in the unfolding realms of DC grids and the prospective hybrid AC/DC grid systems.

In a world where electric power dynamics are constantly evolving, the quest for affordable, sustainable, and reliable power becomes more pressing. With global electricity demand on the rise, the power sector is spearheading the transition to a low-carbon energy system. Electricity is poised to play a more significant role across various sectors, expected to constitute approximately 25% of total energy consumption by 2040. This scenario underscores the growing significance of power electronics in molding our future energy landscape, making ECSL an integral player in shaping a sustainable world.
